Began manufacturing reels (primarily for export). (Matsui Seisakusho).

1958

Established Daiwa Seiko, Inc. in Nakano, Tokyo.

1960

Moved reel production factory to site of current head office.

1962

Began selling reels domestically. Moved head office to current site.

1964

Opened production factory for rods.

1966

Established Daiwa Corporation in Los Angeles, USA as a fully owned subsidiary (manufacture and sales of fishing products and sporting goods).

1969

Changed name to Daiwa Seiko, Inc.

1970

Opened Hiroshima Factory and Tochigi Factory.

1971

Established the subsidiary Taiwan Daiwa, Ltd. in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan (manufacture of rods).

 

Began preparation of national sales company network with establishment of Shikoku Daiwa, Inc.

1973

Established the subsidiary Daiwa Whyte-Hall Pty. Ltd. in Sydney, Australia (manufacture and sales of fishing products and sporting goods; currently Daiwa (Australia) Pty. Ltd.)

1974

Completed national network of sales companies with establishment of Kanto Daiwa, Inc. and Shizuoka Daiwa, Inc.

1977

Established the subsidiary Daiwa Sports Ltd. in Wishaw, Scotland U.K (manufacture and sale of angling products and sporting goods).

1980

Reformation of domestic sales system for fishing products and termination of sales companies nationwide in order to change to a two-layer distribution system in which Daiwa sells directly to retail stores.

 

Establish Nasu Daiwa, Inc. in Kurowacho, Nasu, Tochigi, Japan (manufacture of fishing products).

 

Fishing Nakamura, Inc. (currently, Fishing World, Inc.) in Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture changed to a subsidiary (sale of fishing products).

1984

Established the subsidiary Daiwa France S.A. in Rouen, France (manufacture and sales of fishing products and sporting goods).

1985

Oyagi Shoten K.K. (currently, World Sports, Inc.) in Edogawa, Tokyo changed to a subsidiary (sales of fishing products).

 

Established Daiwa General Services, Inc. (currently, Desko, Inc.) in Higashi Kurume, Tokyo (service company).

1989

Built Daiwa Seiko Nissei Building in Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan.

1990

Establish Daiwa Cormoran GmbH in the suburbs of Munich, Germany.

 

Established the subsidiary Daiwa Seiko Thailand Co., Ltd. (Thailand) (manufacture of fishing products).

1999

Rebuild Head Office.

2002

Sale of "Edim", soft bait with biological decomposed materials was started.

 

Established ¢Daiwa FT Enterprise Co., Ltd.£ subsidiary Fishing Sales company in Taiwan.

2003

Established ¢Zhongshan Dasheng Sporting Goods Ltd.£ subsidiary Fishing Rod factory in China.

 

Tied-up with Kinki Tourist for planning and managing fishing trips and events.
